Recent Holiday Asheville Downtown Review: "In the scheme of advertising hype versus what one actually sees when one arrives at the aforesaid hyped destination, I must say I was pleasantly surprised. It was actually as hyped! The pictures turned out to be ACTUAL pictures of the ACTUAL hotel in which we were staying. Imagine our pleasure! And they were recent pictures at that! The rooms are  all interior, which we like, the elevator is immediately off the lobby (not down some odd hallway, out of sight and sound of assistance, should that be needed), and it was WORKING! The only thing I would have added was a room direction sign immediately off the elevator. There was one to the left. It was just a bit off-putting initially to not see one. Our room ACTUALLY had the amenities promised, and they were much nicer than we even anticipated. The carpet was cushy to walk on, it did not feel like it had been soaked in water (why is it that most hotel carpets feel as though the humidity level was 110% right before you opened the doorr), and the room had an overall pleasant smell (we requested a non-smoking room - it did not smell as though the non-smoking sign had been applied to the door that morning). We requested a handicap room, and there was one available. It had an adjustable, sliding hand-held shower on the main shower head, TWO grab bars, one at sitting height, one at standing height on the back wall and one at the back of the tub. The toilet was at the raised height. There was a grab bar behind and on the wall beside the toilet. Presumably, one was to use the sink on the other side. It would have been nice to have a floor mounted grab bar on the opposite side of the toilet. The sink was appropriately accommodating for wheelchair use, and there was ample turn space in the room. They also have wheel-in showers available as well. (Note: There are also wheelchair height locks and peepholes on the doors) The beds were comfy, and there where very adorably marked soft (2) and firm (2) and 2 extra pillows on our kin"
